Introducing my very own Original Design "cloth" version of the Ragdoll Cat .
Sunny & Moonie ~ Huggable Ragdoll Cats ~ (Ragdoll Cat ~ Look- Alikes)
Recently my dear Raggedy friend, "Crystal" , commissioned me to create a pair of Ragdoll Cat dolls for her. She told me that she is a Doll Collector and not only "collects" dolls, but that her cats were also "ragdolls". I just thought that she thought of her little kittens as cuddly and therefore, referred to them as "ragdolls". As our conversation continued via email.............I was pleasantly surprised to find out that her cats were "indeed" Ragdoll Cats........which is an actual breed of cat !!!!!! As I
"googled" ragdoll cats................I was AMAZED to find lots of information and lists of breeders and available cats............If you too, were not aware of these beautiful loveable cats........I urge you to check them out........and Read All About Them ! ! Below is a link to my google search: RAGDOLL CATS
According to Wikipedia The Ragdoll is an American cat breed with a medium-length, silky, rabbit-like coat. It is best known for its docile and placid temperament and affectionate nature. Ragdolls have a sturdy body with a large frame, proportionate legs, and a soft coat with Siamese-style points.. Adult cats can be 15-20 lbs without being considered obese, and a fatty pad under the abdomen is typical. .
Ragdolls are the largest domesticated cat breed.
Ragdolls were first created in the 1960s by Ann Baker, a Persian cat breeder in California.
The Ragdoll cat typically has a very gentle and relaxed temperament. They are attentive and affectionate members of the family that enjoy and seek out human companionship. Ragdoll cats remain playful throughout their lives, adjust well to children and pets and are sometimes called "puppy-cats" because of their propensity to follow their owners from room to room and meet them at the door. Ragdoll cats are demurely vocal, careful with their claws and teeth when in play, plus forgiving of accidental mistreatment.
Crystal emailed pictures of her two kittens and I began work on creating cloth doll "ragdolls" in their honor. After my second attempt.............this is how they turned out.....I also made Sunny (a.k.a. Sunflower) a little sunflower toy and "Moonie" (a.k.a. Moonbeam)a little moon toy.....matching those found in the print of the fabric Crystal chose for her cloth kittens. She also mentioned that her "Real-for-Sure" kittens sleep all day and want to play with her all night. So she requested that the cloth kittens be made as Awake/Asleep Ragdoll Cats.
They are dressed in "Nitie" and "Jammies" and are just as cute as they can be! Don't you agree????
