Henny the Dutch Doll character was first introduced, by Gruelle,
in his book, My Very Own Fairy Stories"
along with several other popular characters.
Although many were made into dolls as tie-ins to the release of a new book,
Gruelle, to my knowledge, never commissioned these adorable Dutch brother and sister to be made into dolls.
I simply fell in love with these two little characters and deemed it my duty and honor, to preserve them
in the form of a Character Doll...... Evidently, others share my philosophy..........for they are by far,
the most popular of my Raggedy Character Dolls!
Henny is a bit mischievious, but an enchanting little character
and he shares more than a few pillow fights and escapades with Raggedy Ann and Andy
and all the other nursery dolls,
while all the real-for-sure people were away from
home or fast aleep!

He comes dressed in an adorable little suit,
with matching Dutch Hunter's cap and trousers(your choice of beige or grey-blue);
His fully-lined jacket is trimmed with tourtouise-shell buttons and two button holes;
and stands open to reveal his little red shirt and his bow tie of a contrasting print.
His black velour "Dutch-style" shoes complete the ensemble.
He is made of muslin with stuffed little ears and nose, and beautiful blue button eyes!
He is a real charmer and is by far the "most" sought after character doll next to Belindy!
Although Henny and Frederika are sold separately......
I have always sold them together, and have always created them as twins.

His facial features are hand-embroidered, and his blonde hair is in a "Dutch-cut"
and sewn on manually loop-by-loop.
He has the traditional red/white striped "Raggedy" legs.
Each of my dolls, take on a personality of their own as I add the finishing touches.....
.
therefore, each will add that one-of-a-kind distinction to your collection!
