Straight from the Fairyland created by Johnny Gruelle in his delightful Raggedy Ann stories comes....."THE EXPOSITION RAGGEDY ANN DOLL" a VERY RARE and sought after Raggedy Ann doll because she was only manufactured for one year. She will definitely steal your heart away!!.....Just one of the many Raggedy Character Dolls that I have re-created for future generations!....WHY NOT COLLECT THEM ALL???...... Have a question? The Exposition Doll & Toy Mfg. Co. began making Raggedy Ann dolls
in late 1934, after Volland stopped producing the dolls for Gruelle
...and before Georgene Novelties began!
They changed the look of the Volland's crude home-crafted playthings to Magical looking little beings!

Ann's was given a dramatic top-knot , and her new facial features
with her shorter-wider little nose were designed to look as though Ann
had jumped right out off the pages of Johnny Gruelle's "Whitman" fairytale storybooks.
Ann's eyes were drawn on with little pie-shaped wedges to make them look just like Gruelle's Storybook illustrations.
The doll measured 18 1/2 ", she was made entirely of a peach colored cotton.
The stripes of her legs reached all the way up to her cute little "bum",
and her arms and legs had no joints at elbow or knees.
Her new wool "wig" was changed to a colorful "magenta".
Her dress was a pale blue with pink-and-white sprigs and dots, had long sleeves set into the bodice, and a full skirt.
The apron and pantaloons were made of a gauzy cotton fabric,
and were trimmed with either blue or white finishing or bias tape.
This trim was used at the dress's collar and wrists, on the apron straps
and across the top of the ruffle and at the pantaloons cuffs.
The Exposition Ann had forward facing feet, (a dramatic change from Volland's side-facing feet)
and she wore removeable little black felt shoes.
These dolls had no hearts, wore a triangular hang-tag,
and a cloth label sewn to the outside of the skirt's hem which read:

Exposition Raggedy Ann

Inspired by Johnny Gruelle' s Illustrations and the "Original" Exposition Ann
Great attention to detail has been given to create this adorable
Raggedy Character doll.

Exposition Doll & Toy Mfg. stopped producing the dolls by 1936 and never created a matching Andy.
Since the Exposition Ann was made for such a short time,
an "Original" is very hard to find.
I have had lots of suggestions that I re-create this version of Raggedy Ann
........so HERE SHE IS!

I even added the little "dress tag" that is a "unique" characteristic of the original "EXPO" Ann.
of course I have changed the wording to my own name.

She was an absolute JOY to create!!.
I have wanted one for such a long time.....and I just had to share her with you!
Her Magenta "wig" has an extra large "top-knot"
Her apron &Pantaloons are trimmed with blue bias tape and the fabric is a see-thru fabric
I made the apron a little fuller than the original, because I think it is so much prettier!

What an adorable little Ann she is....
I just love her....Don't you?!
Her legs are the smaller red/white stripes with removeable black felt shoes......
this little Ann is not wearing hers because I liked the different look she has with the stocking feet.
I have, however, included little "removeable" black felt shoes
with all of my Expo Anns that have been sold.

If you decide to add one of my "EXPOSITION ANN" dolls to your collection...
she will come with shoes.
I designed my own pattern for my reproduction EXPOSITION Ann.
She is 18 1/2 inches tall and is made of a soft peach fabric.
Her magenta "wig" is a rich soft thick wool yarn.

She is the next best thing to owning an “Original”!
Her hand-painted facial features capture the charming personality
of the very hard to find EXPOSITION Raggedy Ann created so long ago...
which gives her that "Magical" charm.........
as if she just stepped out of Johnny Gruelle's Fairytale Storybooks!
I hope that you will enjoy my version of The EXPOSITION Raggedy Ann doll ,
as with all of my dolls, I have tried very hard to duplicate the original.
Her wonderful smile and sweet Fairytale charm
will win your heart and bring a smile to your face.......
and she will "melt" the hearts of all of those who enjoy your Raggedy Collection

She was lots of fun to create…..and will make a Unique and Cheerful addition
to every Raggedy Collection.
